Room IV / Interference
Moire Clock
Exact local time
Hours rotate one line field. Minutes change the spacing of another. Seconds slide their phase until interference bands gather into the current time.
Construction
Gold frames the hour-controlled field. Magenta frames the minute-controlled field. The bands inside the digits are their shared interference pattern.
How to read it
Step back slightly and let the broad interference bands resolve into four digits. The fine sideways drift is the second.
At the minute
The old pattern loosens for less than a second before the new line spacing settles.
