Room IV / Magnetism
Ferrofluid Clock
Exact local time
Four time digits position four magnetic poles. The black liquid reaches toward them, joins, and opens the current time as a fluid silhouette.
Construction
Each pole follows one digit. Force lines pull one continuous pool toward four different positions; the pale cuts in the pool are the time.
How to read it
The current hour and minute are cut through the center of the liquid. Small surrounding drops show the pull between poles.
Stable motion
With reduced motion enabled, the liquid adopts one fixed configuration for each second.
