Instrument 05 / A personal meridian

World clock

The blue-edged panels are the current two-home axis: Amsterdam during sabbatical, Washington for Howard. Every city uses its own daylight-saving rules.

Why this clock exists

The IANA Time Zone Database records changes to local clocks and is updated when political bodies alter offsets, boundaries, or daylight-saving rules. These panels therefore share one instant without sharing one reading. Their arrangement is personal, but their differences are civic decisions as much as geography. A world clock makes coordination look effortless while quietly carrying decades of laws, exceptions, and negotiations.
