The hour sets the average tide, minutes branch channels through the sand, and each second arrives as one wave. Wet and dry regions hold the time in negative space.
Construction
The gold guide identifies the hour-controlled waterline. Magenta channel branches are seeded by the current minute. The bright foam edge is the second.
How to read it
The drier shapes inside the wet shore give the hour and minute. A wave softens them briefly, then the channels sharpen again.
Every second
One wave crosses the beach. Reduced motion replaces the crossing with a stable shoreline position for each second.
