CRITICAL: All worksheets must be typed using fillable forms. Hand-written worksheets will NOT be accepted.
🚨 Common Pitfalls to Avoid
❌ Do NOT Use These Tools for Advising:
1. Academic Progress Page - NOT reliable for degree requirements
✅ Instead use: Academic History and Academic Record in BisonHub
2. DegreeWorks - NOT a reliable advising tool
✅ Instead use: Official BisonHub Academic Record and worksheets
3. Third-Party Apps (Coursicle, Rate My Professor, etc.) - NOT accurate
✅ Instead use: Official Howard University resources and Ms. Hampton's guidance
📅 Scheme Selection Error
Wrong: Using the scheme from when you entered Howard University
Correct: Use the scheme from when you entered the School of Business
Example: If you entered HU in Fall 2021 but transferred to HUSB in Fall 2023, use the Fall 2023 scheme.
📚 Accounting Courses Must Be at Howard
Effective Fall 2024: Once enrolled at Howard, students majoring or minoring in School of Business programs MUST take ACCT 201 and ACCT 202 at Howard University.
Exception: Courses transferred before admission to School of Business.
🔄 Transfer Credit Restrictions
❌ Students with 30 or fewer credits remaining: Cannot obtain transfer credits from other institutions
❌ Course repeats: No transfer credit for courses already completed at Howard
✅ Business Core 300+: Must be from AACSB-accredited institutions only
📝 Hand-Written Forms
❌ NEVER submit hand-written graduation worksheets
✅ Use only the distributed fillable .docx forms (download above)
✅ Electronic signatures are acceptable
🌍 Foreign Language Waiver Myth
Myth: "I'm fluent, so I can skip the foreign language requirement"
Reality: No waivers or exemptions for fluency
✅ Must complete 2 semesters of the same language (4 for INTB majors)
⏰ Time Conflicts for Overrides
❌ Time conflicts are NOT allowed for override requests
Spring 2026: Do not contact advisors about overrides until January 6
